Hey all! We're taking off the dust of our newsletter to start sharing more about what we're doing and what better way to start than with a end of the year recap post!
This has been by far one of the best and most hectic years for our studio, which amazingly enough turned 10 this year!
First let’s talk about 502’s Arcade, the game we’ve been working on in the past year.
As many of you might now, we’re working on an anthology of fast paced games. We love arcade games and we’ve had a lot of ideas through the years so we decided to work on the game design of some of them and make them more bite sized and the result is this game.
We couldn’t be more happy with how the game is turning out and being this our first release on Steam and Nintendo Switch (and maybe some other places 👀 in the future) we’re definitely excited about it!
The game is now schedule to be released at some point in 2023, with an initial lineup of 4 games. Our intention is keep updating the collection once released and have a good variety of genres in it.
Working on this game has given us a lot of surprises through the year.
We got to be in several festivals, online and in person. Some of them were: Asobu Indie Showcase, Bitsummit XRoads, Indie Live Expo, Dreamhack Beyond.
These were amazing opportunities to connect with new players and we even got the chance to travel all the way to Japan to showcase the game!
We also were lucky enough to get some press atttention through the year, you can read a little bit about the game in:
More exciting news!
Our studio has been 2 people for most of its existence, but this year we managed to expand the team and we’re now a full time team of 4! And not only that, we’ve managed to collaborate with some independent artists on different areas for 502’s Arcade, and the work they’ve been doing has been amazing.
If you like the promo art of the game, you can give Cromatoid a follow on twitter.
The amazing music and sounds in the game are all done by the amazing Quiji, which is also working on his own game, Black Pepper Crew, and you can follow him on twitter as well.
If you’ve played the demo, you’ve already seen that great mood that our 3D title screen brings to the game, and that one is all thanks to the amazing Daniel, make sure to also give him a follow on ArtStation!
And finally, to add up even more to this amazing year, we’ve been working with our great friends at Plastic Fern Studios helping other games and studios to bring their experiences into new platforms! A few months ago, we helped No More Robots to bring their bike game, Descenders, to Android and iOS.
As you can see this has been quite a year, and there is more still to come next year that we can’t talk about just yet.
We wish you all a good end of the year and see you in 2023!
